Program Description

In this age group the focus is teaching the players the fundamental basics and skills required for the game of basketball. It is all about instilling sportsmanship and but more importantly about having fun. They are not expected to play games in this age group. Scrimmages may be played towards the end of the season. 

 

Grade 2's 5-5:50pm, Grade 3's 6-6:50pm.

 

Parents will be asked to remain at the gym.

Program Description

In this age group we build on the fundamentals established during the 2/3 skills development program (players are more than encouraged to join even if they have not attended the 2/3 skill development). The focus is still teaching the players the fundamental basics, skills required and now we begin playing games. We continue to focus on sportsmanship, learn the rules required to play a game and how to work as a team! We focus on inclusion throughout and players will work in all positions to gain a stronger understanding of the great game of basketball. We build throughout the year upon game play and conclude the season with playoffs.

This age group will have one game (Fridays) and one practice per week (Sundays), with cancellations for statutory holidays.

Program Description

In this age group we build upon the fundamentals established and applied during the grade 4/5 program. The focus is now on increasing skill level during game play and preparing the boys for high school level basketball. As well, we continue to focus on sportsmanship and successful team play. Players will work in all positions to gain a stronger understanding of the game of basketball, however there is a move towards positional play as individual players develop strengths in specific positions.

 

This age group will have one practice (Fridays) and one game per week (Sundays), with cancellations for statutory holidays.
